MKHOLOD AK 1.0, the first edition. ZERKALO space, Tbilisi, May 2023
Mkholod ak means “only here” in Georgian. Nine artists, one night, things they could say only here.
A performance promenade through every corner of ZERKALO.
The audience walked from room to room and out into the garden, meeting nine performance artists one at a time. Each piece was personal: where you belong, what documents say about you, what freedom of movement feels like in a country you have just arrived in. Music, pure dance, and the freedom to say it out loud.
Then the statement turned into a party, with DJ sets, dancing and a vogue performance by Alexander Zelentsov. A safe space to talk, dance and be yourself.
